Kansas City woman, Shelia Edwards, has filed for divorce from her husband of 26 years and is looking to move on to the next chapter of her life. Unfortunately she is running into debt trouble and is being held accountable for a $10,000 loan that was her husbands, which she says she never agreed to. Shelia says that her ex-husband was just trying to get a loan approved for himself but She is finding that it is still negatively affecting her credit.

Luckily the court decided that the husband alone was responsible for paying back the loan, but Sheila's name is still on it which makes puts her credit at risk if he makes even one late payment. Sheila has made several attempts to have her name removed from the loan but Bank of America has denied them all because she was a co-signer for the loan. When she asked to see her signature the bank was unable to comply saying that her authorization was given over the phone.

Our lead attorney, William Reynolds was asked to weigh in with his professional opinion as a legal advocate in the divorce field. Attorney Reynolds shared with Fox 4 news listeners that her situation seems unfair and that the bank should not be holding Sheila responsible for a $10,000 loan that she never signed off on.
