While I was born in New York, I grew up in the Midwest and have continued living here throughout my adult life. Growing up with parents from the Dominican Republic, I was fortunate to learn both English and Spanish and to have had the opportunity to travel there every year to spend time with my family. While my Dominican culture is very important to me, the Midwest is my home. Growing up, I spent most of my free time playing competitive sports. Specifically, I played football and tennis, and my passion for sports drove my competitive nature while also teaching me the value of a great work ethic.
I received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Political Science from Rockhurst University and earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. While pursuing my law degree, I participated in Sports and Entertainment Law Society, as well as the mentorship program in which gave me the opportunity to mentor first-year law students. Since earning my law degree and being admitted to the Missouri and Kansas bar, I have worked as an associate attorney and have handled a variety of legal matters, specifically commercial litigation, personal injury, family law, real estate disputes, and landlord-tenant law.
Growing up, I often found myself getting into debates with teachers, professors, and classmates. I questioned everything and always needed to know and understand the “why” or reasons for certain topics that warranted discussions or debate. I was always eager to face the challenges that came with understanding and solving these mental puzzles. I would attempt to analyze the topic from every possible perspective in order to find the strongest way to argue my point and ultimately resolve the issue. This passion has stuck with me throughout my life and is a major factor in how I practice law.
As an attorney at the Reynolds Law Firm, family law is my passion. Every family law case is unique, and each will have its specific challenge which drives my practice. Dealing with child custody issues can be extremely stressful for those going through it. Custody cases present unique and complex issues, and my goal is to resolve those issues by advising my clients on the best way to handle each specific challenge to ensure their child’s best interests are met. Understanding how to handle these issues is critical, but having the internal drive and desire to fight for my clients and make sure their child is in the best possible situation is the reason I practice law.
Irrespective of the case, my goal is to effectively and diligently serve clients. My work ethic gives me the confidence to know I will consistently strive to meet each client’s needs while prioritizing their individual goals. In addition, my cultural background has also allowed me to work with numerous Spanish-speaking clients. Being in a place where you do not speak the primary language can be scary and challenging, but my goal is to ensure my clients are well-informed and diligently represented.
When I am not working, you can find me with my significant other at home watching Chiefs games with our three dogs. If I am not watching football, I am at the dog park, at the lake, spending time with my older brothers, or watching scary movies.
